Nature Based Solutions

Nature Based Solutions use the power of nature to reduce and/or remove GHG emissions. Reduction projects avoid GHG emissions associated with deforestation, forest and soil degradation. Carbon Dioxide Removal projects use the sequestration ability of forests, soil and wetlands to absorb and store carbon dioxide. Carbon Dioxide Removal projects will be a critical element to achieving the Paris Climate Agreement goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C. Advanced negative emissions projects such as BECCS (Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage) are in time expected to play an important part in countries’ net zero commitments.
