Carbon Project Development Manager

Job Description

Agasco is seeking a skilled and experienced Carbon Project Development Manager to join our team. Based in London and reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of carbon project design, validation, monitoring and verification. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in supporting origination and business development opportunities within the carbon market sector. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role the development of a young and dynamic company supported by deep experience in carbon markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carbon Project Management:
    • Lead the development and implementation of carbon projects from conception to implementation and issuance.
    • Lead on the production of project and mitigation design concepts and documents.
    • Oversee project monitoring and ensure compliance with relevant methodologies and requirements.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate project implementation efficiently.
  • Validation and Verification:
    • Manage the validation and verification process for carbon projects.
    • Liaise with third-party auditors to defend validation and verification and ensure timely registration and issuance.
  • Origination and Business Development:
    • Input and advise on the identification of potential carbon project opportunities.
    • Develop knowledge and contacts in the evolving compliance and voluntary markets and related governmental frameworks.
    • Liaise with project partners and stakeholders to support new business development.
    • Support the preparation of proposals, bids, and investment concepts.

 

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level at a minimum in a technical subject such as environmental engineering, environmental science or economics.
  • Proven experience in carbon project development, management, and validation/verification processes.
  • Familiarity with carbon offset standards (e.g., VCS, Gold Standard, CDM) and governmental regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills and communication skilla
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a hands-on proactive attitude.
